Busch boost 2 Sisters
One of the UK's leading food companies has cut energy costs, reduced its carbon emissions and improved production efficiency after installing a 'green' centralised vacuum system in its newly acquired Scottish plant.
2 Sisters Food Group, a major supplier of chicken products to the retail, foodservice and food manufacturing sectors, said that the new centralised system supplied by vacuum specialist Busch (UK) will produce significant 'green' benefits. It has also meant that all heat and noise emissions have been removed from the production hall.
The eight-pump Busch system - seven on duty, one on standby - provides the five production lines with vacuum as and when they need it. Ian Simpson, 2 Sisters Food Group's divisional engineering manager, said: "We wanted a system that produced the lowest emissions possible, was ergonomic and economic to operate and guaranteed us production continuity."
