RMIF go for the gut
The Red Meat Industry Forum (RMIF) is holding an event on 9 October at Dunchurch Park Hotel and Conference Centre, Rugby to help abattoirs make money out of their gut rooms.
The day's event is part of the continuing work being undertaken by the English Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX) Offals Working Group, which was set up in June 2006 to explore ways of increasing industry returns from offal.
The gut room is often viewed as a drain on resources, costing money with little or no returns. The day's event will prove that by managing and controlling gut room processes and finding new markets for your offal you can turn these costs into profit.
Topics for the day include: improving gut room operations, how to reduce your renderering costs, how to process offal to take advantage of developing markets, and how to make energy and water savings.
There will also be the chance to quiz industry specialists during a question and answer session. Expert speakers for the day include Steve Woodgate, Phil Davies, Jim Scudamore and John Savage.
Numbers are limited so to register your interest please call RMIF on 01908 844710 or email jo_small@rmif.org.uk
