New range of forklift trucks launched
A new range of seven diesel forklift trucks has been launched by Mitsubishi.
The FD80-160N series is heavy-duty, with models ranging from 8t to 16t. At the heart of every truck in this series is the Mitsubishi 6M60-TL diesel engine.
To make the trucks tough enough to survive in the harshest applications, heavy-duty components and protective features have been used in the design, according to Mitsubishi. Examples include high-strength masts, a robust rear axle, an aluminium radiator and a high-performance hydraulic breather.
A box-shaped structure, with fuel and hydraulic tanks integrated into it, adds to the rigidity of the chassis. The designers aimed to make the driver feel confident, surrounded by the rigid chassis and overhead guard but with clear views in all directions.
Ergonomic and comfort features include a full-suspension seat, carefully angled automotive-style pedals and a precise, low-effort steering system. The truck's fingertip hydraulic controls are integrated into a fully adjustable armrest. Oil-cooled disc brakes are fitted as standard on the 16t model and as an option on the others. The truck will even warn you if your seat belt is not done up.
