Anglo Dutch Meats, the Sussex-based meat company, has invested over £1m in a total upgrade of its Eastbourne plant, which opened on 1 May.

The latest Star Frost free-flowing freezing equipment has been installed and the firm has taken delivery of 15 new Chereau Inogram refrigerated trailers.

Luc Battel, chief executive, said: "This is a sign of our commitment to the meat

sector and puts us at the forefront of freezing and processing technology.

"Not only will it allow us to produce product more efficiently and effectively, but to deliver it in the most cost-effective manner."

The company completed the project after major investment by existing and new shareholders. Nik Askaroff, managing director, said: "Our shareholders and new investors have shown their confidence in our business by investing significant sums to allow these projects to be completed. This state-of-the-art facility, in combination with our global procurement structure, fulfils our strategic objective to offer our core manufacturing and service customers an unparalleled level of service and efficiency."
