IFFA bites
Espera's fresh dozen
Espera, the German manufacturer of weigh-price labelling and labelling equipment had a very successful IFFA, using the exhibition to launch 12 new products.
At entry level, three new versions of the ES2000 series of manual weigh labellers were released. The ES2060 features a multi-range scale, which automatically switches its weighing calibration between 15, 30 and 60kg. It is intended for outer-case labelling of boxes and crates and the printer is capable of printing on many types of stationery, including die-cut labels, continuous labels and perforated cards. Other variations of the ES2000 range offer variations on the printers, with a 160mm wide unit for printing large pallet labels and also an RFID-enabled version.
Espera also launched four new variants of an automatic weighing range, the ES5000. These new machines feature label applicators that work from both the top and bottom of the product for the first time.
A new series of machines for automatically weighing and labelling long and heavy loads, called the ES6000 range, was also introduced. The initial machine in the range, ES6001, is for automatically weighing and labelling boxes, whole turkeys, or vacuum-packed primals at up to 40 items per minute.
Totally new for Espera was a metal detector unit, a weight grading and batching system, and a system that automatically stacks the packed product after labelling prior to being boxed.
Peter Kettell, MD of Espera, said an order for three machines was taken from Brown Brothers (Manufacturing) of Kirkconnel for check-weighing and labelling of packed sliced cooked meats.
