Exhibition disappointment for Insect-o-cutor

 - Published:  30 March, 2007

With an exciting new productto launch, Insect-o-cutor had high hopes for Pro2Pac. Its Cryonite product uses carbon dioxide to freeze insects to death, instead of more traditional pesticides or electrocution.

Lesley Callaghan, Insect-o-cutor's office manager was manning the company's stand at Pro2Pac, but admitted the exhibition was "disappointing".

The company was there to promote the Cryonite system, which works by emitting a carbon dioxide 'snow' through a nozzle, that freezes insects as it evaporates.

Insect-o-cutor had hoped to reach new clients, usually large food manufacturers, but Callaghan said that while there were many foreign visitors, there was neither the volume nor the right type of visitor to make the exhibition a success.

"We found it really disappointing. There just weren't the people there," she said.
