For the first
time, British food manufacturers will have the opportunity to buy friction feeders from a company that, until now, has not supplied the food industry.
Advanced Dynamics has been selling the KöRa-Packmat friction feeder for many years to pack products such as beer mats, plasters and DVD inserts. Now, the equipment can be used for sliced meats and other foods. It works by dispensing trays, which are placed on a conveyor and filled with sliced food. The system then feeds the plastic trays through to a packaging machine.
In a recent German cheese installation, the machine reached 100 cycles per minute, said the company. Depending on the size, the feed rate can be set at up to 800 products per minute and, owing to its compact design, the friction feeder can be integrated into most production lines.
