Most butchers
now accept payment by debit or credit card. But offering a chip-and-pin keypad to customers when you have been handling raw meat means risking bacteria growth. Inpace manufactures a flexible keyboard glove, which protects against bacteria, liquid spills, dust, food, dirt and grime. Recently, the company has f ormulated keyboard gloves that are impregnated with silver ions during the manufacturing process of the polymer. Bacteria that come into contact with the ions are altered, meaning they cannot grow or reproduce. The silver ions remain active for the life of the glove, says the firm, and will guard against listeria, E.coli and MRSA.
