A colour
-coding system for improving hygiene at meat processing plants has been created by cleaning solutions company Vikan.
The service, called the Colour Coding Programme, involves drawing up a plan of the plant with a Vikan team member.
The plant is then divided into different cleaning zones, each with its own colour.
Tools needed for cleaning
each area are then colour-coded and assigned to a coloured rack in each zone.
"This ensures that the correct tool is always to hand and instantly identifies any tool
which might be missing or may need to be replaced or cleaned," said Vikan.
"This is particularly useful in plants where workers are of
many different nationalities, as there can be no language problem when colours are used to mark each zone.
