New temperature recorders from Lamerholm Electronics

Developed and designed by Global Sensors, these new recorders provide a strip-chart record of temperature conditions during storage or transportation of food or other temperature sensitive products. According to the manufacturers they are cost-effective, highly reliable and battery powered, and are available in 5,10,20,40 or 60 day duration models. The units are activated by simply removing a start tab, sealed up and then placed in the lorry.

When the load reaches its destination, the chart is simply removed from the recorder and the temperature history is reviewed. A distinct advantage, according to Global Sensor, is that the strip-charts provide a third party validation of temperature records. Each chart has a specific serial number and in the event of a dispute, this can provide solid proof linking the container and the recorder.
