Singing the blues
Habasit Rossi has recently introduced a new conveyor belt for the food market.
Coated with Habilene, a modified polyolefine coating that boasts several hygienic properties, the new belt was manufactured in blue because the colour rarely exists in food, so residues are easy to spot and remove. Also, since blue material is less reflective than smooth white surfaces, there is less interference with optoelectronic devices.
Habasit has worked closely with the food industry in developing its range of food conveyor and processing belts. The Habilene coating was developed to better resist sticky foodstuffs and soiling. Habasit believes its belts provide the highest level of food safety and cleanability in the marketplace today.
Blue-coated conveyor belts have been steadily gaining a higher share in bakery, biscuit, dairy, meat, fish and poultry processing plants because of their visible hygiene benefits.
