Use strips and save
The latest upsurge in energy costs has prompted many in the industry to try and cut energy usage. Seymour Manufacturing claims its Cold Stop thermal strip curtain is one way to do this.
Cold Stop is a Tempro-insulated door curtain for cold rooms which is said to markedly reduce cold room energy consumption, meaning that it qualifies for 100% tax relief under the government's Enhanced Capital Allowances Scheme (ECAS).
Under ECAS, businesses can claim 100% tax relief on designated energy saving plant and machinery in the year the expenditure was incurred.
The touted energy savings are impressive. Seymour Manufacturing claims that customers that use SMI Cold Stop can save 18% to 25% in chillers rooms and up to 30% to 35% in freezers.
