Get a smarter coder

 - Published:  01 July, 2006

Markem, the UK supplier of coding and marking systems for food packaging, is offering companies that want to try laser coding the chance to trade in their old inkjet for a new SmartLase coder up to the value of £1,500.

Laser coders are the clean, economical alternative to old inkjet coders, the company claimed. Mike Whiteoak, Markem's marketing manager, said: "Laser coding technology has made tremendous strides over the last few years. This means we can offer high-quality printing at speeds that can only be matched by more powerful, more expensive laser coders.

"Laser coding has many advantages, including great reliability and economical running costs. But to help with the initial investment, we are offering this 'new for old' scheme."

SmartLase is suitable for coding cartons, sleeves, labels, plastics and glass.
