THE MANUFACTURERS of the Aura Ultimate long life fluorescent lamp claim it is the world's longest life fluorescent tube with a service life some seven and half times longer than a standard model.

The Aura Ultimate fluorescent lamp, from Greenstock, has a service life of 60,000 hours. As well as environmental benefits of less lamp replacements and disposals, the Ultimate presents cost savings with less lamps and labour costs in maintenance. With patented cathode shield construction and inside protection layer, the T8 lamp is claimed to produce 10 to 12 per cent more light output than a standard fluorescent lamp.
