New support for Champion of Champions

One of the world's leading casing manufacturers has thrown its weight behind MTJ's campaign to find this year's ultimate champion sausage.

Naturin Ltd/Viscofan is the latest company to sign up to support MTJ's Champion of Champions, the competition which pits the UK's best sausage producers together to find out who produces the best sausage in the UK.

The event takes place at Butcher's Hall, London, on 15 October, and will help launch the start of British Sausage Week, which runs until 21 October. The week will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and will feature a host of sausage themed events to celebrate.

Naturin Ltd/Viscofan will be joining both Lucas Ingredients and BPEX in sponsoring Champion of Champions. The competition is open to anyone in the trade who has been declared a champion in one of the UK's many regional sausage evaluations and competitions.

Butchers and sausage makers are eligible to enter if they have won a regional competition anytime between 1 April 2006 and 30 June, 2007.

This year's champion will be announced on stage at Butcher's Hall by cricketing legend Phil Tufnell, who is supporting British Sausage Week and all finalists will be presented with their special certificates on the day.
