Grampian enters talks

 - Published:  25 April, 2007

Talks are underway between union leaders and Grampian Country Foods following the recent industrial action at a number of the company's sites.

Strikes have now been suspended according to both Grampian and the Transport & General Workers Union after the two organisations agreed to further talks on issues of pay, pensions and parity for agency staff.

Action was taken at Grampian sites in Cambuslang near Glasgow, Coupar Angus in Perthshire, Fairview near Edinburgh, Llangefni on Anglesey and Wiveliscombe in Somerset as well as the Grampian owned Welsh Country Foods on Anglesey.

A spokesman for Grampian said: "Talks are continuing and all industrial action has been called off to allow talks to take place."
