Scotch show forging on

 - Published:  28 November, 2007

Plans are forging ahead for the 2007 Christmas carcase show at Scotch Premier Meat Ltd in Inverurie next week.

Scotland's First Minister and Gordon MSP Alex Salmond will officially open this year's event on Monday, December 3rd.

This prestigious annual event attracts entries from many of the region's top beef, lamb and pork producers and is attended by leading high street butchers and caterers from throughout the UK.

Judging this year's event are Alan Healy of Aubrey Allen Ltd, Canley, Coventry and Bill Dye of Scotts Butchers, Carshalton, Surrey.

Many of them will stay on for the 2007 Aberdeen Christmas Classic - Scotland's premier two-day winter farming event - which takes place at Thainstone Centre on Monday, December 3rd and Tuesday, December 4th. Bank of Scotland Corporate heads the list of local and national sponsors.

Commenting on the event, Scotch Premier Meat Ltd managing director Raymond Wight said: "Preparations are well under way for the 2007 Christmas Carcase show and we are particularly looking forward to welcoming Mr Salmond to the event. The show provides a wonderful opportunity for producers and customers to meet and discuss the industry, as well as seeing the high quality of our beef, lamb and pork, produced here in north Scotland."
