Taste is tops
A family-run meat supplier is celebrating after being named Small Producer of the Year at the annual Deliciouslyorkshire Awards.
The annual event, held at York's historic Merchant Adventurers' Hall aims to reward excellence in food from across the Yorkshire region.
Thirsk-based Taste Tradition, which supplies the highest quality rare and native-breed meats, was praised by judges, who said: "Their dedication and commitment to every aspect of the business - clear evidence of a local workforce, food safety procedures and business growth."
Also honoured on the night was the Balloon Tree Farm Shop and Café, which took the title of Farm Shop Retailer of the Year.
The business, based at Gate-Helmsley, is a multi award-winning farm shop that shows huge commitment to prioritising regional and local produce, the judges said, with a speciality in rare-breed meats.
