Food Hall Seeks Local Meat Suppliers
An eco-friendly food hall and gastropub is seeking like minded beef, lamb, pork and poultry suppliers.
The Oak, in Hockley Heath, Warwickshire has undergone refurbishment and is due to open in the first week of September.
Buyers Barny Butterfield and Sarita McKinlay are hoping to source naturally reared meats from West Midlands farmers for their new butcher's counter and the restaurant kitchen.
In addition to the meat department, the 5,000 sq ft food hall will have a grocers, bakey, delicatessen, fishmonger and florist.
Listed producers will be encouraged to help promote their lines and improve awareness through in-store tastings, talks and monthly farmers markets.
"We are passionate about creating a high end food experience that marries quality and provenance with a sustainable and environmentally minded operation," said Butterfield.
"The Oak will be a farm friendly community, supporting producers in every way we can.
"I'm looking for suppliers who practice traditional husbandry to create natural, great tasting foods that are kind on the environment and would love to hear from anyone within 50 miles of the store who is interested in building a relationship with us."
