Denbighshire Butcher Wins Award Second Year Running
A Denbighshire butcher has won a category award for high quality meat products for the second year running at a prestigious north Wales butchers awards organised by Hybu Cig Cymru or Meat Promotion Wales (HCC).
Rob Jones of Bodidris Beef walked away with the category champion award for home-cured gammon for the second year running as well as winning a further three gold awards for pork and chive sausage, pork and leek sausage and home-cured bacon entries.
Product entries from Welsh independent butchers battled against each other in an intense competition for the 12 champion categories presented at this years HCC North Wales Counties Innovation and Excellence in Meat Products, held at Venue Cymru, The Promenade, Llandudno.
Graham Titchener, HCC's marketing executive, said: "The quality of the north Wales entries were of a very high standard.
"The event showed the depth of creativity, innovation and quality in the sector, which is keeping the north Wales butchers ahead when it comes to meeting consumer requirements."
Category winners were presented with a cup or plaque for shop display by the competition's sponsors - HCC, WR Wright & Sons, Lucas Ingredients, South England Pastries and Filmor D&E.
