Trial for E.coli butcher

 - Published:  01 April, 2007

The butcher accused of being responsible for the South Wales E.coli outbreak in 2005 is to stand trial at a crown court this summer. At Bridgend Magistrates Court last Thursday, district judge Richard Williams said that William Tudor, who faces 13 food hygiene charges, should be formally sent for trial. He added that a crown court judge would choose which charge and venue was appropriate.

Tudor, former owner of John Tudor & Sons butcher's in Bridgend, will appear before Cardiff Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on 16 April, with a trial at a later date.
