Q butchers share in Smithfield success

A lamb ready-meal that won the overall supreme prize at the Guild of Q Butchers 2006 Smithfield Awards has been distributed to all 160 Q Guild butchers so they can share the success.

The recipe for Minty Lamb Bake, a delicious minced lamb and vegetable dish topped with potatoes and cheese, was devised by one of the Guild's southern region members, Dennis of Bexley.

A Guild of Q spokesman said: "Although most of our members have their own award-winning products, one of the advantages of being a Q butcher is access to the best meat and meal ideas."

Minty Lamb Bake is a top seller for the Mulford family at Dennis of Bexley. It won the Diamond Award for best product in the kitchen ready category in the 2006 Q awards and then went on to take the supreme award.
