Butcher fined for filthy shop
A London butcher has been fined £2,500 with costs for keeping his shop in a "filthy" condition.
Mintu Ullah of Medina Halal in Enfield pleaded guilty to Enfield Magistrates after food safety officers described his shop as so dirty it posed a food safety danger to customers.
Officers from Enfield Council also found unsafe electrical fittings, incorrect disposal of waste food and discovered the premises were operating without a butchers licence, the court was told.
