Morrisons abattoir to expand

 - Published:  14 February, 2007

Around 300 new jobs will be created as Morrisons' Woodhead Meat Bros' plans to double the size of its Pinchbeck abattoir get the go-ahead.

Last week South Holland District Council's development control committee approved the firm's plans to add 5.014 sq m to its factory in Brunel Road, provided that the site is fuelled by ten per cent renewabale energy.

The abattoir was built in 1991 and is being expanded so Woodhead Meat can make it commercially viable.
