Butchers' Scottish Study Tour
A group of top butchers have paid a visit to Aberdeenshire to find out more about Scotland's beef lamb and pork.
John Kent of Direct Meats in Colchester, Allan Carr from ABC Meats in Wisbech, Robert Rawlings of Cranleigh, Keith Clark of JH Clark & Sons in Princes Risborough, Duncan Fraser from Inverness and Clive Davidson from Champany Inn at Linlithgow made up the group, which visited Scotch Premier Meat Ltd to discuss the year ahead and look at the animals on the farms that supply the company.
The purpose of the trip was to ask questions of the company and improve their knowledge of Scottish meat for the benefit of their customers.
Raymond White, managing director of Scotch Premier Meat, said: "I think it says an awful lot that these people are prepared to travel all the way to Inverurie to speak to us about their plans and requirements for 2007, and to find out more about what we're doing. For some of these people the round trip involved many hundreds of miles.
"For me, it was very useful to hear about their plans for the year ahead so that we at Scotch Premier Meat Ltd can plan our business in line with the requirements of our customers."
