Canny customers can stock up for winter with bumper packs of homemade sausages and burgers, prime roasting joints of matured, own-reared Meatgold beef, Maidford Grange lamb and Buttercross pork, whole and portioned chicken and turkey from Turkey Talk and family packs of mince, braising steak, chops and other cuts at a fraction of the usual cost.

Offers include a three for two on Farmers Fayre steaks and a half kilo of sausages free with every kilo purchased.

Lucky dip bags are available for £20 - usually priced at £40 - which could contain a mix of anything from Nicola's homemade pies to a whole pheasant and, for those with plenty of space at home, you can even buy half a pig.

This is the third year that proprietor Nicola Reece has run the promotion, devised to make way for new stock and exciting in-house product lines.

Nicola said: "There are so many bargains to be had - last year we had sold out by 1pm - so customers are advised to visit us as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

"The stock is all superb quality and ideal for freezing so you don't have to eat everything at once."

The Freezer Fill Friday offers only apply to sales in the Abbey End shop and not to online sales or at other Farmers Fayre outlets.
