Royal visit at Rothbury Family Butchers
It is not every day that Royalty pop to your shop but Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall made a private visit to Rothbury Family Butchers in Rothbury, Northumberland, last Friday.
Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, visited the shop when they opened a hall across the road from the award winning butcher's shop. The royal couple were presented with the memento of their visit Northumbrian lamb and a variety of award-winning sausages, including the renowned Cragside Cracker, by Morris and Maria Adamson's seven-year old daughter Molly.
Morris and Maria chatted to the royal couple for around 20 minutes. "Camilla was wonderful. She told us she had heard about our sausages and Prince Charles wanted to go through the shop and see where the sausages were being made," said Morris. "Camilla said they would have the sausages for dinner that evening. "Talking to them was just like talking to old friends."
Morris said the royal visit had made the shop the centre of attention and he would be exploiting the royal connection by putting photographs of the couple up in the shop.
