An award winning burger recipe, specially designed by celebrity chef Anthony Worrall Thompson, is to be made available to Guild of Q butchers, thanks to one of their members.

The AWT burger was created specifically for butcher Joe Collier, owner of Eastwoods of Berkhamsted for the South of England Guild of Q Barbecue competition.

Joe claimed a Gold Medal from the event and is now making the burger recipe available to all members of the Guild. "We have a good relationship with Anthony Worrall Thompson, and he designed a beef-burger recipe solely for me to use in the competition.

"I've decided to pass that on and now all Guild members will be able to get hold of the recipe." He said the burger features a blend of seasoning along with chives and parsley, among other ingredients, and Joe has arranged a deal with spice and sauce manufacturer Verstegen to produce the seasoning for the burger, which will then be available for Guild members to buy through Sauce-it.

"It's a very generous gesture on Anthony's part," said Joe, "and I decided that because I'm very proud to be a member of the Guild, I wanted to do my little bit and let all the members have access to the Anthony Worrall Thompson burger."

He said there would also be material available to butchers to promote the burger to customers. "This burger could be very big for the guild," added Joe
