Rugby gets state of the art meat, poultry plant

CATERING BUTCHERS, Browns Food Service, will open a state of the art £1.5m meat and poultry factory in Rugby on 3 June boasting many of the technological advances being made in the industry.

Celebrity chef, Brian Turner, will open the new 3,000m² facility.

Group sales marketing director, Nigel Martin, said: "It is the most modern factory for a UK catering butcher. It has always been the dream of the managing director, Andrew Dalton, who founded the company in 1983, to open a state-of-the art plant."

New equipment in the factory such as portion control, conveyer systems and automaticly closing refrigerator doors will ultimately help increase turnover in terms of volume and revenue, Martin added. The business supplies a wide range of red meat, game, poultry, and 'chef-prepared' products to the UK catering sector.

It distributes its service from four sites in Rugby, Warwickshire, Romsey, Hampshire, Bradford in Yorkshire and central London. The company also specialises in supplying all sectors of the hotel and catering industry.

Several open days have been organised for new and existing clients to have a look around.
