AHDB seeks young leaders
The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has announced plans to recruit more future meat leaders for the second year of its Young Leaders Fellowship.
The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has announced plans to recruit more future meat leaders for the second year of its young leaders course.
The accelerated management development programme - which is the only specific development programme for meat managers in the UK - is run by AHDB Meat Services in partnership with Cranfield University, Cambridge University and The Danish Meat Trade College.
Based on Cranfield's award-winning fellowship in manufacturing management, the course has been specially adapted for the meat industry and is aimed at providing the necessary skills to drive change and improvements in every area of a business.
The programme comprises seven modules, spaced out over 18 months. Topics include strategic management, slaughtering, deboning, further processing, technology and innovation management and lean production. The modular design of the programme means candidates do not need to be away from their jobs for long.
The first group of fellows graduated successfully in January. The next programme will start on 22 June 2009, at Cranfield University.
For more information or a prospectus on the programme, please contact Christine Walsh at AHDB on 01908 844191.
