Waitrose trials convenience in Nottingham
Waitrose is to open its first convenience store in the city of Nottingham.
The 5,800sq ft store will open at Trinity Square in the city and will trade from 7.30am to 9pm on weekdays and Saturdays, with Sunday trading restricted to 11am to 5pm.
The store format will be unlike traditional convenience stores and more like a 'mini-Waitrose', with fish and meat counters, freshly baked bread on-site and a 'Time of Day' concept, where shoppers can pick up breakfast, lunch or dinner to take away.
Waitrose plans three more stores in this trial; the next to open will be in Bristol, planned for spring next year, then a further two stores - locations for which are yet to be announced.
