The annual Christmas carcase show at Scotch Premier Meat Ltd, Inverurie, will be held on 4 December and opened by 'Uel Morton, chief executive of Quality Meat Scotland (QMS).

The event attracts entries from some of the area's top beef, lamb and pork producers and it will be attended by independent butchers from around the UK.

'Uel Morton said: "Carcase events like this showcase the very finest quality stock currently being produced in Scotland. QMS support for these events is important as it sends out a very positive image of the Scottish red meat industry's ability to produce world class beef, lamb and pork for both the domestic and export markets."

This year's Christmas carcase show will be judged by Alan Woodward from Henfield and Brian Randalls from London. It is being held at Scotch Premier Meat's North Street premises and will open to the public at 1.30pm with the official opening by 'Uel Morton at 2pm.
