Scotch Premier Meat sales executive Neil Christie will do his best Lloyd Grossman impression when he helps judge the World Scotch Pie Championship on 4 November.

Neil was selected for the judging panel by founder of the Scotch Pie Club, Alan Stuart of Stuarts of Buckhaven. Through Scotch Premier Meat, Neil supplies Stuarts with both the products for use in pies as well as the high-quality products for sale in the retail shop.

Looking forward to the event, Neil, who has over 25 years' experience in the meat trades, said: "I'll be looking for the flavour, taste and appearance of the pies and it's a bit of an honour to be on the panel, helping to judge the best Scotch pie in the world."

This will be the 10th World Scotch Pie Championship and Savoury Product Evaluation and the big event will take place at Carnegie College, Dunfermline and all that Neil has been told to take with him is "a love of all things savoury and a sound constitution!"

The event is organised by the Scotch Pie Club which was set up in 1996 to improve the image and quality of Scotland's favourite savoury snack.
