Platen refurbishment improved
Packaging machinery manufacturer Multivac has expanded its platen refurbishment facility at its Swindon headquarters.
The new investment includes a Teflon coating facility, ovens and bead blaster for improved machine performance. The company said it uses Multivac materials, Multivac trained staff and procedures to ensure the highest possible standards when recoating platens for customers. Multivac also tracks data on all platens to monitor individual performance, and the system is compatible with a Planned Preventative Maintenance programme.
The company claims the investment shortened refurbishment turnaround by increasing capacity, making it easier for customers to deal with potential production emergencies. Multivac technical director John Lakin said: “We have been delighted with the uptake of the platen recoating service. Our customers are really seeing the performance benefits. This new facility allows us to keep our high standards and continue to grow.”
