Wireless temperature probe

Electronic Temperature Instruments (ETI) is launching a wireless temperature probe capable of transmitting information to any Bluetooth-enabled device from a distance of up to 20 metres.

The BlueTherm measures temperatures between -49.9°C and 249.9°C with a resolution of 0.1°C, and automatically uploads the data to smartphones or computers. ETI said: “No longer is there a need to worry about dangling wires into food or across equipment.”

The probe, priced at £92, features flashing blue and red LED lights indicating Bluetooth communication transfers and power status respectively. It also has a rechargeable battery with an autonomy of up to several days.
The BlueTherm comes with basic application software, and a software development kit is also available for companies that wish to create their own bespoke application, customised according to their equipment.

“The BlueTherm is ideal for HACCP-controlled food process or foodservice environments where efficient and accurate temperature acquisition is critical. Its wireless and easy-to-use characteristics make it an ideal choice for commercial food applications,”
ETI added.
