Co-op revamps its Food to Go

 - Published:  16 October, 2008

The Co-operative has completely revamped its 'Food to Go' range to offer customers everything they would need for a take-out lunch or breakfast.

As part of its commitment to open and honest labelling, the Co-operative claims it will be the first retailer to fully label its entire range of Food to Go products with clear traffic lights and ingredients, so that health-conscious customers can check nutritional information at a glance and make informed choices.

The range, rolled out from 6 October 2008 with products such as the new 'Heat Me Eat Me' range includes Pizza the Action - a folded basil flatbread with beech-smoked ham, bacon, chargrilled vegetables, mozzarella and spinach, and Feeling Hot Hot Hot - a chilli tortilla wrap with marinated chicken, salsa, peppers and Monterey Jack cheese.

The Co-operative has added to and improved its range of Truly Irresistible sandwiches, to include some new flavours using premium ingredients, such as Aberdeen Angus Beef and Freedom Food Ham, and interesting speciality breads including focaccia and ciabatta.

The retailer has also launched a range of fresh new limited-edition salads - including a Wiltshire Ham Salad, which features baby potatoes, coleslaw and crisp lettuce.
