Tulip expands further
|
Tulip Ltd has announced the aquisition of Parkam Foods, Trophy Foods, Freshway Foods and Transfoods.
The processor said the deal would give it the opportunity to gain entry to beef and poultry markets, as well as adding sandwich and sandwich filler production to its product portfolio.
Steve Murrells, CEO of Tulip, said: “The deal to buy the companies further strengthens our position as the UK’s leading supplier in our existing categories and, at the same time, affords us the opportunity to enter new sectors.
“The purchase is a clear signal of our intent to further develop the Tulip business through acquisitive and organic growth.
“We will now be working closely with the companies’ management teams to ensure their smooth transition into the Tulip Group and I am looking forward to the exciting opportunities that the purchase will provide.”
Around 736 people are employed across Parkam Foods, Transfoods, Trophy Foods and Freshway Foods, which currently supply a range of beef, poultry and pork products, as well as sandwich and sandwich fillers to the UK’s retail and foodservice sectors.
