FSA open board meeting today

 - Published:  15 November, 2011

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) will hold an open Board meeting at its headquarters in London today at 1pm.

The meeting will be chaired by Agency chair Jeff Rooker and will include discussion on CCTV for monitoring animal welfare at times of slaughter, and the proposed principles for establishing the future meat controls programme, which once agreed with ministers, will form the basis of the UK position in EU negotiations to modernise meat controls across the EU.

The Agency will also present the first FSA Meat Operations Annual Report, which will focus on the delivery of official controls for meat premises in 2010/11.

The agenda and papers have been published on the FSA website. You can attend the meeting at the Agency’s headquarters: Aviation House, London, or watch it live online at http://www.food.gov.uk/aboutus/ourboard/boardmeetings/
