Denhay Farms receives best bacon award

Denhay Farms’ dry-cured bacon has been crowned Best of the West for the second time in a row. Judges from the Taste of the West Awards held in Cornwall on 1 November said it was “an excellent product in all respects”.

Denhay Farms managing director Jim Loescher said: “We are having an amazing year at Denhay, with our bacon and cheese winning so many outstanding awards. It is a huge accolade for us to win Taste of the West’s Best Bacon award and, once again, I can only congratulate all our bacon curers for the outstanding work they do at Honiton.”

The bacon was judged according to its taste, texture, aroma, packaging and appearance, and was praised for being “as good a piece of British bacon as you would hope to find”.
