DBC Foodservice to offer quality-assured beef and lamb to foodservice
UK food wholesale business DBC Foodservice has launched its first range of Eblex quality-assured beef and lamb products for the foodservice sector.
The 20 products form part of the DBC own-label brand, which was launched in January, and are available through the company’s 12 regional depots. Products include rolled and tied lamb shoulder, boneless lamb leg joint, topside roasting joint (2.5-3.5kg), sirloin steaks, and sirloin and ribeye steaks.
DBC already supplies an Eblex Quality Standard Mark range for butchers, as well as Red Tractor chicken, but this new range has been brought out to widen the selection offered to foodservice. If demand proves strong, the range is likely to be extended over the coming months.
DBC’s new commercial director of meats Rob McFarlane said: “We are extremely excited to be launching our new Eblex Quality Standard range of beef and lamb products. The range demonstrates DBC’s stance on offering quality-assured meat from British farms and gives our customers complete confidence in the way our meat has been sourced. We are proud to be able to add the Eblex Quality Standard Mark to the side of our transport fleet and show our total commitment to the best in British agriculture.”
Mike Whittemore, project manager at Eblex, said: “We are delighted that DBC has launched an Eblex Quality Standard range of quality meat products for the foodservice sector. The Quality Standard Mark is fundamental to both customers and farmers and the use of the mark across the side of its fleet signifies DBC’s commitment to farming.”
DBC’s customers include the MoD, Caffè Nero, Selecta Rail Gourmet, the Barracuda Group, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, and 25 local authorities.
