DBC launches split-pack bacon

 - Published:  19 October, 2011

Food wholesaler DBC has launched a split-pack bacon product to increase flexibility and reduce meat wastage in the foodservice industry.

Released under DBC’s own-label brand, the range is available in 2.27kg smoked or unsmoked bacon packs, each split into two smaller packs. The company believes this will make the product more flexible, allowing caterers to open one side at a time.

Rob McFarlane, meats commercial director at DBC Foodservice, said: “I am delighted to announce the launch of the new ‘dbc label’ premium, split-pack bacon product. The split-pack feature is a first for DBC and possibly the foodservice sector.

“Our customers were asking for more versatility in our product offerings and our response adds genuine innovation to our popular meat offering. The new dual-pack enables caterers to keep enjoying meat of the highest quality, but with increased flexibility, choice and shelf-life,” he added.
