Christmas turkey packaging available online
Turkey producers can now buy Christmas packaging online via the UK Turkeys website. Products available include small and large boxes, carcase and carrier bags and leg tags.
Launched by the NFU to promote locally reared turkeys, the website received more than 300 subscriptions last year from producers across England and Wales. It allows customers to find their nearest farm by entering their postcode.
Mike Bailey, a producer and vice-chairman of the NFU poultry board representing turkeys, said: “Seasonal turkey producers find the website a great way to promote their birds to local shoppers, who want to know where turkeys have been reared.
“By being associated with the UK Turkeys website, farmers can add value to their turkeys. Quality packaging is another way of differentiating them.”
