ABP to buy RWM Food Group

Leading UK and Irish beef processor ABP has announced it is to purchase the RWM Food Group for an undisclosed sum.
ABP UK, part of the ABP Food Group, said the agreed acquisition, which will see ABP ramp up its UK lamb processing operations, is expected to be completed in the next few days.
The RWM business processes beef and lamb at facilities in Langport, Somerset and Yetminster, Dorset respectively. The Dorset plant also includes a retail packing operation.
ABP UK, part of of the ABP Food Group, said it looked forward to continuing good relations with RWM Food Group’s suppliers and customers.
Tom Kirwan, managing director of ABP UK, said: “This is an important milestone in the development of ABP UK, augmenting its beef supply in the cattle rich South West region of England and giving the business a platform in lamb to further develop its existing lamb processing activity in Northern Ireland.”
Graham Heffer added: “The sale of RWM was taken after much consideration by the family who had invested 40 years into growing and developing the business that prides itself on quality and customer service. I am sure ABP UK will embrace the RWM ethos and help the business develop even further.
