A leading meat processor has announced a deal to expand its operations on to the world stage, with a new export partnership.

Woodhead Bros has said it will work with international sales and marketing business Global Protein Solutions to further grow its export operations.

Andrew Smith, head of trading at Woodhead Bros, said: “After a six-month trial period working with GPS, Woodhead Bros have developed a significant range of export products that have opened up many new market opportunities for our business. To further benefit from these opportunities, Woodhead Bros have now entered  an export partnership arrangement.”

The processor will also be working on a product development programme with GPS.

Ryan Williams, director for GPS, said: “We have been working with Woodhead Bros over the last year putting huge focus in expanding export markets across fifth quarter and beef, pork and lamb cuts. Using GPS’ expertise and knowledge of the global market we have introduced many new customers and product lines to Woodhead Bros business.

“The product range developed has been very well received as the quality of the meat processed by Woodhead Bros is second to none and this agreement now paves the way for both businesses to move to the next level and look to fully maximise the growing opportunity from global sales and marketing of British meat.”
