Secrets and pies
A Lancashire pie company is looking for "tasters" as it attempts to uncover the secret of the great British pie.
Holland Pies, based in Baxenden near Blackburn, is looking for 12 people across Lancashire willing to join the company's pie-tasting panel.
Managing director Neil Court-Johnston was reacting to a local newspaper feature on Holland Pies, which had brought in a much larger response than had been anticipated. Court-Johnson said: "Wherever you are, the issue of what makes a good pie generates a lively debate.
"Right now, there is also a real desire for good-quality, traditional British fare, and we've decided to open the debate on the great British pie."
Those selected will attend a series of pie-tasting sessions and be asked to offer opinions and review recipes.
Holland Pies, part of the chilled division of Northern Foods, employs 400 staff.
