Sausage couple fry up success

A farming husband and wife team have made a sizzlingly good deal with the largest retailer in the country to stock their ethical pork sausages.

Debbie and Andrew Keeble of sausage company Debbie & Andrew's, Thirsk, North Yorkshire, have struck a deal with Tesco to sell their range of farmyard sausages in 400 of Tesco's stores, following a successful trial in branches in the Yorkshire area.

Andrew Keeble said: "As a smaller producer, this is a really big deal for us and a huge move forward for our brand. Tesco has always been incredibly supportive of us and gave us our first break when we were making sausages at our kitchen table and looking to sell them beyond local farmers' markets.

"Initially we'll be supplying our best-selling Harrogate (gluten-free) and Perfect Pork recipes, with a view to introducing more further down the line."

The deal will mean that the Keeble's sausages will be available in all of the 'big four' supermarkets in the UK. Their products can already be found in Morrisons and selected Sainsbury's and Asda stores.
