Packington launches online ordering service

 - Published:  01 December, 2010

In response to high levels of customer demand, Staffordshire-based Packington Poultry has launched an online ordering facility for its Christmas Cockerel.

The free-range cockerels weigh up to 7kg and are described as a tasty alternative to traditional Christmas turkey. Farmer Alec Mercer said: "The cockerels owe their exceptional flavour to the fact that they are allowed to mature naturally over approximately four months, roaming across traditional pastureland in the Staffordshire countryside.

"The superb texture and flavour is attributed to the muscular development as a result of their free-range environment. For people who find the average turkey rather bland or a bit on the dry side, these cockerels provide a mouth-watering alternative."

Stockists of Packington Poultry include Chatsworth Farm Shop and The Ginger Pig. Orders can be made at www.packingtonpoultry.co.uk.
