Paul Turner receives award

 - Published:  01 November, 2010

Hampshire butcher Paul Turner was handed the 2010 British Sausage Award at the David Black awards lunch in London last month.

The trophy is given to a person who makes a "particularly valuable contribution to cause of the British banger" and Aldershot-based Paul was recognised by Bpex for his charitable work raising money for injured soldiers.

Bpex director Mick Sloyan said: "Paul has produced and sold two special sausages called the Hair of the Hog and the Pickled Pig to raise money for Help the Heroes. He has managed to raise nearly £15,000 through this activity and I am sure that will grow in the future."
