Pot Noodle set to use meats

 - Published:  06 September, 2010

Pot Noodles are set to get some bite, with the launch of a new range of the snacks containing real meat.

The product, popular with students, will be using meat for the first time in its 33-year history with the launch of the new microwavable Pot Noodle GTi. Priced at £1.59, flavours will include chicken tikka masala, followed by chilli con carne and spaghetti bolognese later this year.

Brand owner Unilever is reported to be investing £4m into promoting the new range, with a series of cinema ads in September, followed by a television campaign the following month.

The company said the move was aimed at growing the brand beyond its traditional teenage audience.
