Gressingham to launch duck brand in Germany

 - Published:  25 August, 2010

Poultry producer Gressingham Foods is set to appear for the first time at this year’s Intermeat exhibition in Düsseldorf.

According to William Buchanan, commercial managing director for Gressingham Foods: "Germany’s duck market has grown significantly in the last few years, but some of the producers traditionally supplying this market have not been able to meet the higher standards of breeding and welfare that the country’s consumers now demand.

"We’re confident that the Gressingham Duck will fill a gap in the market among retail and foodservice buyers seeking a premium product that is also produced to rigorous welfare standards."

The exclusive breeder of the Gressingham Duck has lower stocking densities than many poultry farms, natural daylight, water for bathing and feed made from cereals, without bonemeal.

Intermeat takes place between 12 and 15 September at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre.
